Well, if you're a UFC fan like me, it's both a blessing and a curse to be living in Bangkok or being there during one of the UFC events.
The good news is, there are plenty of sports bars that show the main events and even more bars that open for the occasion when you got a big name like McGregor fighting.
The bad news is, you're gonna have to get out of bed early on a Sunday morning.
Unless of course, you're just getting out of a dodgy after-party after a long Saturday night.
In that case, just keep on drinking and you'll be fine.
But where to watch the fights in Bangkok?
Here are my favorite bars to watch the UFC in Bangkok:
Contents
The Sportsman Bangkok
This is the biggest sports bar I know, perfectly located in Sukhumvit Soi 13, close to Suk 11 and Soi Cowboy.
So it's perfect for an after-party.
The place is huge with 2 floors and enough space to easily fit hundreds of people.
They got all sorts of drinks, craft beers, a great selection of spirits, and food.
You'll get everything you want.
Like for all other places, make a booking in advance if you're going to watch a big Pay Per View event.
There's nothing that sucks more than standing up for a few hours while you watch the fights.
Especially when you just woke up.
The Old English Pub
The Old English Pub is right next to BTS Thonglor.
It's surprisingly inexpensive for Thonglor area and they often get a special deal on their English or American breakfast set during UFC events.
The only thing is there's a really limited number of tables.
Bookings recommended.
The Clubhouse Sports Bar And Grill
The Clubhouse is only a hundred meters from Soi Cowboy so that makes it the perfect spot if you haven't slept yet and you're just getting out of Penny Black.
It's not nearly as big as the Sportsman but they also got 2 floors and plenty of space, inside and outside.
Been there for the World Cup 2018, the place is ok but the drinks are not the cheapest, and the food is average.
But it's open for UFC events.
Hooters
Hooters have 2 locations in Bangkok, Sukhumvit Soi Nana (Soi 4), and one in Sukhumvit Soi 15.
Easy to say, if you're staying close to one of Bangkok's red-light districts or if you're ending your night in one of them, there's a Hooters at walking distance.
Probably the most expensive option on the list but that's what it cost to have sexy Thai waitresses keeping you company between the rounds.
How To Watch The UFC On TV In Thailand?
In Thailand, Pay Per View events are live on True Sports HD 3 for free.
It's a channel available on some TV packages like True Vision.
They don't always show the preliminary fights, but for those, you can always buy Fight Pass like me and watch all the complete cards (except the pay-per-view) from your couch.
When Is The Next UFC Event?
Google has the answer to that and sometimes even more details about the events than the website of the UFC itself.
Type "next UFC event" in Google to have the time and details about the cards.
Now let me know in the comments, who's your favorite fighter or what was your favorite fight of all time? 🥊
I think mine was Adesanya against Gastelum.
Are the fights in English?
Yes, they put English commentary in every sports bars I tried.
Nice! Can’t wait! Moving on the 20th to Bangkok. Huge ufc fan. Agree with you on best fight being stylebender Gastlum, although I love the Diaz mcgregor fights and many more too.
YES thanks for the great tip! Ill be in Bangkok for UFC281 and I cant miss Dustin Poirier vs Michael Chandler, and Stylebender vs Pereira! Ill be at the Sportsman, probably tired from an awesome all-nighter
There’s a high chance that you see me there 😉
