ThaiCupid Review : The Thai Dating App for Serious Dates ?
One of the most popular dating sites in Thailand is ThaiCupid, a well-established website founded in 2002 that now counts more than 3 million members.
Far from other apps that push casual dating, Thaicupid seems to focus more on connecting single Thai girls and foreign guys that want to have a serious relationship based on common interests and values.
But is it the perfect place to meet your future Thai lover?
How does it compare to Thaifriendly and other Thai dating apps?
What's the difference between the free and the premium version?
Can you really land a date on Thaicupid?
And if yes, can you do it for free?
Let's have a closer look at ThaiCupid.com site in this review to answer these questions.

The Largest Thai Dating Site ?
With over 3 million members, Thaicupid is definitely amongst the top dating websites in Thailand.
And even though it's impossible to verify the number of registered users, there's constantly a lot of active members on the site.
The website shows the number of people online at the top of the page and it's always above 3,000.
But the reason to choose Thaicupid is not really the number of users, it's more what set it apart from the competition.
The best thing on Thaicupid is the level of details you find on the profiles that is unlike other Thai dating sites out there.
The profiles you find on the app go deep into what people are like, what they want, what are their values, and what they expect from their future date or partner.
That combined with the advanced search filters makes it perfect for people who want more than a one night stand.
ThaiCupid Sign Up
Signing up on ThaiCupid is free and only takes a few minutes.
To start, you can either sign up with your Facebook account or with an email.
Of course, signing up with Facebook is faster but if you don't want to link it to your dating profile, you don't have to.
You can just use your email instead.
With that first step completed, you can move on to the creation of your account and start to give more details about you and what you're looking for.
Set Up Your Profile
Setting up your profile correctly is probably the most important part of your journey on ThaiCupid.
Again, this dating site is more oriented toward people who have set expectations and are looking for something special in their future partner.
Someone who shares the same interests, beliefs, way of life, and more.
If you want Thaicupid to work for you, take some time to give as many details about you and the date of your dreams.
Only when this is done the app will be able to recommend you profiles that are similar to yours and you will find interesting people on Thaicupid.
Otherwise, you might just lose your time scrolling through the infinite number of members on the site.
Even though there's quite a lot of questions, as most of them have predefined answers it shouldn't take too long to complete your profile.
But take your time, grab a drink, and put some thoughts into crafting the perfect profile and description.
When you're done with it, it's time for the fun part, searching for the perfect date.
Find a Date on Thaicupid
One of the best features of Thaicupid is all the filters you can use to search on the site.
Unlike some apps where you just swipe left and right depending on the profile they show you, and where you can only see people around you (you know which one I'm talking about), with ThaiCupid you've got access to all the users registered on the site right away.
And to find the perfect date there's a TON of filters :
- What they're looking for
And because you will find a bit of everything on this platform, from students looking for fun to more mature girls looking for an older person to take care of them financially, the filters will help you cut through all that noise and focus on the women that are really interesting for you.
Once you've used the filters now click on the profiles you like to get more details about them.
And if you're looking for something serious, you will be happy to see that there's a lot of single girls on Thaicupid that want a stable relationship.
Much more than on other Thai dating apps.
Also, keep in mind that Thaicupid has members all around the world and in every part of Thailand.
So you're not limited to the big cities like Bangkok, Phuket, Pattaya or Chiang Mai.
You can even meet girls from the countryside of Thailand as well as Thai girls living in Europe, the UK, or even the US.
Like I said before, the level of details on Thaicupid profiles is unmatched.
That means you can get really specific in your search.
You can pick your date's appearance (height, weight, body types, hair color....)
You can also choose girls or guys with a particular lifestyle (if they smoke, if they drink, if they have children, if they want some...)
You also have options to filter them by their background and cultural values (education, level of English, religion...).
Finally, if you're really looking for a specific type of body, you can add filters to sort them by "personal" attributes.
That includes bust, hips, and waist measurements.
Are all these filters necessary?
You tell me.
I don't necessarily feel these many filters and levels of details always help you find the right person.
But I do feel like it's important for those who want someone with the same expectations regarding kids, religion, money, or other deal-breaking things to have an idea on that before they commit to a serious relationship.
The chat is where things get tricky on Thaicupid.
With the free version, you can only see who liked your profile and who sent you messages.
But to see the messages and answer them you need to get a premium membership.
The good news is, once in a while, Thaicupid will give you a 1-hour free premium subscription to try the paid version.
During this time you can, of course, send as many messages as you want and finally get to exchange with Thai girls that you like on the app.
It's a good way to get more familiar with the app and the built-in chat.
But honestly, not giving any possibility to send messages on a free account is really a hard sell.
It would be great to have limited access to the chat for free and the possibility to unlock it completely with a membership.
But unfortunately, that's not the case here.
Now, talking about the premium membership, let's see the different options below.
Thaicupid has 3 types of accounts.
The standard account, that is free and gives you access to all the basics features.
And 2 types of premium accounts, the Gold and Platinum membership.
And let's be honest here, you really need to switch to a premium account to have some level of success on Thaicupid.
Each type of premium account comes with extra features:
- Gold membership:
- Unlimited messages with all members
- No Ads
- Possibility to hide your profile and browse anonymously
- Platinum membership:
- Every feature of the Gold membership
- More profile space
- More search features
- Advanced matching
- In-app message translation
Gold Membership :
- 1 Month - $34.99
- 3 Months - $69.98 ($23.33/month)
- 1 Year - $139.99 ($11.67/month)
Platinum Membership :
- 1 Month - $39.99
- 3 Months - $79.98 ($26.66/month)
- 1 Year - $159,99 ($13.33/month)
Payment Methods and Refund
You can pay your premium membership by debit or credit card, Paypal, or with Skrill.
And note that when you subscribe to a premium membership the app put it by default in auto-renewal.
Apparently for your comfort so you don't forget to renew it.
But if you don't want to keep your membership for whatever reason, set a reminder to cancel it before the end of the subscription period.
ThaiCupid doesn't have any iOS app so iPhone and iPad users will need to use the mobile version of the site on their device.
But good news for Android users, Thaicupid have an app that you can download for free on the Play Store.
Even though the design is a bit clunky, it does the job and you can it's to chat and to find dates online on the go with it.
But to use the advanced search effectively or to set up your profile, the web version is still easier to use.
ThaiCupid vs ThaiFriendly
Both Thai dating sites are extremely popular but have their pros and cons.
Thaifriendly (see review) is cheaper, has more users, but even if it has more detailed profiles than most dating apps out there, it's not at the level of ThaiCupid. So it's perfect to find a ton of casual dates and sex buddies, but not so much to find the love of your life.
Thaicupid has a level of details on the profiles that is unmatched and combined with their advanced search filters and matching algorithm, it's way more efficient to find the "right" date.
Even though the price of the membership is a little bit higher on Thaicupid, I do think it's a better value if you're serious about finding your future wife or husband.
Also, the higher price of ThaiCupid also mean there's less competition. That's something to keep in mind too.
Pros and Cons
Overall, Thaicupid is a great dating app with plenty of users (males and females), a lot of great features and it's a really good place to meet Thais singles.
The only thing that is really annoying about it is the limited access to messages on a free account.
👍 Pros :
- Free sign up
- 1,5+ million users
- Detailed profiles
- List of expectations
- Number of people online
- Android app
- Cheap yearly subscription
👎 Cons :
- No free chat
- No iOS app
- High price for monthly membership
Thaicupid Review - Takeaways
Is Thai Cupid a great website to find single Thai girls and guys?
Is it worth paying from a premium membership?
Yes if you're seriously looking for someone special that you probably won't find on Tinder or in Clubs.
And don't get me wrong, the app works great for both flirting and serious dates.
I just feel like the number of details you find on profiles makes it better to find "THE ONE".
Now about the price of the membership, it's actually a good value if you use it a lot and if you're looking for someone special.
It will help you save a lot of precious time and allow you to avoid the repetitive and soul-crushing meaningless chat you have on every other dating app: “What you like, where you from, how tall are you, what’s your job...”.
And with the number of filters available on the advanced search, you can effectively find people that really match what you want.
Now go to take advantage of the free version and make up your own mind.
Thaicupid is free to use. You can go on thaicupid.com and create a profile for free on the dating app.
Thaicupid is as easy to use as any other dating app. Create an account for free here, complete your profile, browse through the different user profiles on the platform and send messages to the girls or guys you like the most.
You can create a profile and explore the profiles of other users for free on Thaicupid but you will need a premium membership to read and send messages.
Line id is the way to find the profile of a person on Line messaging app. To learn how to create an account on Line and add an user with their Line id you can refer to a the help page of Line App here : https://help.line.me/
You can cancel your subscription anytime in your account. Click to the settings icon at the top right of the screen, go to billing and cancel renewal.
Thaicupid Gold membership costs $34,99 a month with no commitment or $11,67 per month with a 1-year subscription.
On Thaicupid you can sign up, see all the details on a profile, get access to basic search filters, and send messages for free. To answer messages, get access to advanced search filters and more premium features, you will need a membership.
Thanks for reading my review of Thaicupid all the way till the end.
