12go Asia Review : Are they reliable ?
I came across 12go Asia went I first visited Thailand in 2012 and I've been using their service for most of my trips in and around Thailand since.
In a time when we do everything with our phones, it's good to have a reliable website where you can book all your trips online, at a good price and in just a few minutes.
Buses, ferries, vans, transfers, trains, and even flights now, they have almost every type of transports for a lot of different in Thailand and over 20 countries.
You can book everything from the same platform and most importantly, keep all your bookings and tickets in the same place.
So in short, yes, 12go Asia is great, it's safe, as legit as it comes and they have good prices.
But if you're not convinced yet, let's get into details.
Why book your tickets online on 12go ?
In the last years I've been trying to use a minimalist approach to travel and use as few apps / websites / agencies as possible when I plan my trips.
That's the main reason why I've booked most of my trips in Thailand with 12 go Asia lately.
This way I have all my tickets in one place and I don't have to deal with different agencies and operators.
But there are more reasons to use 12go for your trip :
- It's convenient. No need to go to a travel agency anymore, you book everything from your phone.
- No need to bargain. With 12 go you can see in seconds all the different options for a route and pick the one that fits your budget and schedule.
- No need to print tickets. Even if some recommend that you print your tickets, I haven't printed any tickets for the trips I booked on 12 Go Asia. I just show the receipt on my phone and it always works. This way you don't lose your tickets, you don't need to look for a printer in a city you don't know and it's eco friendly.
- All your bookings on one platform. Imagine if you need to book 10 transfers during your trip in Thailand and you have 4 people with you. That's 50 different tickets you have to print and carry with you. Forget that, book everything with the same website and save yourself some headaches.
Not saying that 12goasia is the best travel app, but if like me your priority is price and convenience, it's right at the top.
You can also use their website for pretty much all your trips in Asia as they cover all the main routes in Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Laos, Cambodia, and more.
Everywhere I go, whether I need a bus or a ferry, I always use their app. (Except for flights, I prefer to go with Air Asia directly to accumulate more rewards).
Countries and routes
I was talking about convenience, and what's more convenient than to use the same platform to book tickets online for your trip all around Asia and beyond.
12go is now available in over 20 countries.
Mostly in Asia at the moment, but they're quickly spreading to the rest of the world including Europe and North and South America.
In Thailand, 12go Asia covers almost every route and for all types of transports.
Bangkok to Hua Hin by train, Krabi to Koh Phi Phi by ferry, buses from Pattaya to Bangkok... they have it all.
With only a few clicks and you can see all the options for the most popular routes from Bangkok :
- Bangkok to Pattaya
- Bangkok to Hua Hin
- Bangkok to Koh Samui
- Bangkok to Koh Phangan
- Bangkok to Chiang Mai
- Bangkok to Krabi
And if you want more, you can just use the box below :

Types of Transportation
What makes 12 go Asia better than the competition?
The fact that you have all the different types of transportation on the same website.
Remember the days when you had to go to each company's website to compare timetables and prices? I do.
And I'm super glad these days are over.
With 12go, I like that you can compare all the options for a trip and pick one in just minutes.
What types of transportation do you find on 12go?
- Airport transfers
- and more...
Not only you can compare them all on the same page, but you can also compare the trip duration and timetables between them.
That's how sometimes you realize it's cheaper to take a flight and a taxi than a ferry and a van.
They even have deals on some trips that make it cheaper to book the whole trip through them than to buy separate tickets.
But you're probably gonna say, "12go take a commission on every booking, right? So they must be more expensive than booking directly with the company?"
Well, not quite. At least, not all the time.
Like when you book hotels on booking.com or Agoda, they have so much leverage that prices are as good, and even sometimes cheaper.
What about the prices? Is 12go cheaper than travel agencies or tour operators?
In general, 12go Asia prices are pretty competitive and they tend to be similar or cheaper than local travel agencies.
But not always.
Truth is, for some trips they don't have the cheapest options. It's often the case for trains or local buses in Thailand.
For example, from Bangkok to Hua Hin, they don't have the cheapest train tickets. You need to go to Hua Lamphong (Bangkok's train station) to book the cheapest train tickets.
And I have more examples like this.
So if you're traveling on a tight budget, you might want to go to local agencies and try to find cheaper tickets. At least in Thailand.
But it also takes time, energy, and money to go to the different travel agencies and bargain.
So if like me you prefer convenience over the cheapest rates, 12go Asia is for you.
And at the end of the day, even if you decide to go with local travel agencies, compare prices on 12go Asia anyway.
Just to make sure they're really giving you the best deal.
Booking tickets on 12go website is really easy and fast.
That's my favorite thing about their website. It's clean, fast to load, and it makes it easy to compare and book tickets when you travel.
Even when you're in the middle of nowhere, with a bad connection or with slow wifi, you can always manage to complete your booking.

Contact and Customer Support
To be completely honest, I never had to contact 12go Asia support so I can't really say what it's worth.
If you do a quick search online on other 12go Asia reviews, most people seem to have a generally good experience. (hence their 4.1 stars rating on Trustpilot)
But in case you need to contact them :
- Go to the website and press the "Call us online" button. The support is free of charge and can be reached every day from 10 am to 8 pm (Bangkok time)
There's no number where you can call them. You need to go through the website.
But they also have a few offices in Thailand. More details about their offices and locations here.
Yes. I've booked over a dozen trips with them, it always went well. When you look at reviews, the large majority of customers are happy with their services and the support is there in case you need help.
Based on the size of the company and all the positive reviews I would say 12go is pretty legit. I would imagine you can't be as big and spread in that many countries unless you're doing something good.
Thanks for reading my review of 12go Asia all the way til the nd.
